Discover the grandeur and elegance of Beaux-Arts architecture on this walking tour through the heart of Ottawa. As you explore some of Ottawa’s most iconic public and commercial buildings, you’ll learn to “read” a classical facade by identifying the architectural elements, proportions, and decorative features that define this influential style which brought a sense of prestige, order and civic pride to Ottawa’s streetscape.
Meeting location: Government Conference Centre, 2 Rideau Street
The tour runs for 90 minutes and covers about 2.4 km, north to south — starting near Parliament Hill and finishing between Gilmour and Lewis Streets. Comfortable, supportive footwear is recommended, as tours may include gravel and paved pathways. Tours run rain or shine.
Children must be accompanied by an adult. To ensure the safety and comfort of all guests, only service animals can be accommodated on our tours.
